Abstract We investigated posts on Twitter using the word “datapovo”, which became popular in the context of the 2022 presidential elections in Brazil. The term refers to content that sought to discredit electoral polls, in contrast to the imagery record of crowds of supporters of candidates. We use concepts of pragmatism and semiotics in order to understand how these signs can stimulate the fixation of beliefs around a possible fragility in the electoral process. We also highlight the manipulation of contemporary technical images, fostering debates on the sign effects of this type of strategy in disinformation processes.

Resumo Investigamos postagens no Twitter com a expressão datapovo, que se popularizou no contexto das eleições presidenciais de 2022 no Brasil. O termo se refere a conteúdos que buscavam questionar as pesquisas eleitorais, em contraste com o registro imagético da multidão de apoiadores dos candidatos. Acionamos conceitos do pragmatismo e da semiótica, a fim de compreender como esses signos podem estimular a fixação de crenças de uma possível fragilidade no processo eleitoral. Levantamos também uma reflexão sobre a manipulação das imagens técnicas contemporâneas, fomentando debates sobre os efeitos sígnicos desse tipo de estratégia nos processos de desinformação.

Este artigo investiga os agenciamentos híbridos entre agentes de interface e agentes humanos nos ambientes sociocomunicacionais de streaming de músicas LastFM, Grooveshark e Deezer, com base nas noções de agenciamento (Deleuze e Guattari) e semiose (Peirce). O modelo peirceano da semiose é tomado como parâmetro conceitual para explicar o funcionamento do agenciamento híbrido entre homem e máquina nesses ambientes. Propõe-se a noção de agenciamento semiótico para compreender o aprendizado contínuo e aprimorado da máquina a partir das ações humanas nos ambientes pesquisados, assim como as articulações das ações humanas baseadas nos mecanismos de recomendação. As relações de continuidade entre as mentes dos agentes humanos e as dos agentes de interface são abordadas na perspectiva da Teoria do Sinequismo de Peirce, relacionada à sua noção de semiose.

Based on the notions of agency (Deleuze and Guattari) and semiosis (Peirce), this paper discusses a study of the hybrid forms of interaction between interfaces and human agents in the music streaming environments LastFM, Grooveshark, and Deezer. The Peircean model of semiosis is taken as the conceptual framework to explain how the hybrid forms of agency interact at the interface between humans and machines. This paper proposes the notion of "semiotic agency" as a conceptual tool in the study of the learning processes whereby machines acquire knowledge about human preferences and decisions and are able to transform them into recommendations. The relationship of continuity between human minds and interface agents is discussed from the Peircean perspective of synechism and semiosis as a continuous process.
